This camp was originally established by Steve Hakala Sr. and was later purchased by Steve Hakala Jr. and Jeremy Davis in the early 1990s. Each year, the camp consistently produces impressive trophy bears and Boone & Crockett–class caribou. What Canoe Bay offers

Aleutian Chain Caribou

We hunt caribou on leased land around Canoe Bay, exclusive hunting nights. This is a full-rut hunt as the bulls are joining the cows and calves for the annual season. We have taken multiple boone-crockett class bulls, these bulls can get massive, contact Jeremey for more details.

Alaska Coastal Brown Bear

These coastal bears are hunted every even spring (may) and odd fall (October) rotations, giving them a spring to breed and a fall to feast on salmon and grow and mature.

This area consistently produces some absolute mosnter bears - squarring out from high 8' to 11'

Beach combing/shed hunting

This incredible trip leaves from Anchorage in 4-5 super cubs, with a client in each aircraft. We fly all the way down to the lodge and beach comb all the way, we spend 5 days at the lodge (may 13-19th) venturing out each day to collect ivory tusks, Japanese glass balls, visiting the walrus rookery and a natural hot springs. This is a total blast! A once in a lifetime adventure.

Wer also do a 3-day moose shed hunting trip at the end of may each odd spring usually collecting anywhere from 50-100 horn sheds.
